Vier jaar na hun doorbraak in Belgium’s Got Talent hebben de vijf dansers van Baba Yega op Instagram hun maskers afgedaan. Daarmee lijken we eindelijk te weten wie er schuilgaat achter de dansgroep, al denken veel fans dat er meer aan de hand is.

Ze waren in 2016 één van de vreemdste deelnemers aan Belgium’s Got Talent. De vijf ijzersterke dansers met creepy alienachtige maskers verbaasden echter iedereen en wonnen met glans de talentenjacht. Meteen was het speculeren begonnen en hadden veel mensen allerhande theorieën over de ware identiteit van Baba Yega.

Holland’s Got Talent

Maar al die tijd wist de dansgroep geheim te houden wie er schuilging achter de vreemde maskers. Na hun passage in Belgium’s Got Talent trok Baba Yega ook naar de Duitse en Britse versie. Daar werden ze respectievelijk tweede en zesde.

Morgen – zaterdag 31 oktober – staat Baba Yega in de finale van Holland’s Got Talent. En juist daarom vinden veel fans van de groep de onthulling wel heel toevallig. Al heel de week posten de dansers op Instagram mysterieuze filmpjes waarin allerhande mensen zeggen dat ze niet Baba Yega zijn. Eén van hen zou liegen volgens een post van de groep en dus wel deel uitmaken van het vijftal.

Nieuwe lichting?

Gisteren deelde de groep dan ineens een foto waarop vijf dansers te zien zijn met de caption “Wij zijn Baba Yega”. Kort daarna volgde een nieuwe post met daarbij “Bedankt voor alle steun ❤️ 30.10.2020 R.I.P.”.

Of de vijf mannen de foto echt de dansers van Baba Yega zijn, valt wel te betwijfelen. Veel fans vermoedelijk namelijk dat de onthulling een stunt is in aanloop naar de finale van Holland’s Got Talent. Er duiken dan ook heel wat theorieën op over wat precies de bedoeling is van de foto. Volgens sommigen zou de oude garde afscheid nemen en zijn de dansers op de foto de nieuwe lichting.
