Het einde van tv-serie How I Met Your Mother kon niet elke fan bekoren, en dat is een understatement. Het slot kreeg bakken kritiek, en dat hadden de makers wel voorzien. Want op de dvd’s van de serie staat gewoon een extra alternatief einde.

Bays maakte dus een bewuste keuze voor een welbepaald einde, en blijft achter die beslissing staan. 

We're going to include that version on the Complete Series DVD as an alternate finale to How I Met Your Mother.
