Er staat geen rem op het succes van de Koreaanse boysband BTS. De zeven jongens mochten op de People’s Choice Awards maar liefst vier prijzen in ontvangst nemen en wonnen zo in elke categorie waarin ze genomineerd waren. Ook de film Bad Boys for Life van Bilall Fallah en Adil El Arbi ging met twee prijzen naar huis.

Vannacht werden in Santa Monica in de Amerikaanse staat California de People’s Choice Awards uitgereikt. Dat zijn de prijzen die de Amerikaanse televisiezender E! elk jaar uitdeelt aan de populairste films, series, artiesten en celebrity’s. De zender beslist over de genomineerden waarna er online gestemd kan worden voor de winnaars.

BTS

Nadat ze ook al op de VMA’s, EMA’s en de Billboard Awards in de prijzen vielen, zijn de zeven jongens van BTS ook de grote winnaars op de People’s Choice Awards. De Koreaanse boysband was genomineerd in vier categorieën en kon al die nominaties verzilveren.

Zo ging de groep naar huis met de award voor De groep van 2020. Daarnaast kregen ze de awards voor Het nummer van 2020 en De videoclip van 2020 voor het nummer Dynamite. En tot slot mochten ze met hun album ‘Map of the Soul: 7’ ook de award voor Het album van 2020 mee naar huis nemen.

Bad Boys for Life

De film Bad Boys for Life, geregisseerd door de Belgen Bilall Fallah en Adil El Arbi viel twee keer in de prijzen. Het ging daarbij om de felbegeerde award De film van 2020. Daarnaast mocht Will Smith voor zijn hoofdrol in de film de award van De acteur van 2020 in ontvangst nemen.

Bad Boys for Life was ook genomineerd in de categorie De actiefilm van 2020, maar moest daar de duimen leggen voor Disneyfilm Mulan.
